CHECK-IN
Competitors must check-in at least 1 hour prior to their tee-time at the SGU Championship Registration Desk. This will be situated in the entrance of the clubhouse at The Fairmont, St Andrews.

CLUBHOUSE
Competitors and their guests may use the clubhouse facilities. The dress code is smart casual. The wearing of jeans, sleeveless or collarless shirts is not permitted.

Changing facilities are available in the clubhouse. Coin operated lockers, showers and towels are available but towels must remain in the Changing Rooms.

CAR PARK
Competitors may use the main clubhouse car park. Competitors must not park in front of the clubhouse entrance as this is strictly a drop-off/collection area. The Scottish Golf Union and The Fairmont cannot accept responsibility for any damage to cars.

CATERING
Any food or beverage, out with that provided by the Scottish Golf Union & Belhaven, will be at competitors own expense.

Caddies are permitted however all food and beverage will be at their own expense.

FORMAT
The event is an 18-hole medal team competition with a maximum handicap of 28 and 3/4 allowance given. The teams will consist of two amateurs from each club who qualified via the Belhaven Best Scottish Club Handicap Championship Regional Finals. A maximum of 40 teams will participate. The best nett score recorded by any one of the two players in the team at each hole will be added to form an aggregate.

In the event of a tie for leading positions the following countback procedure will be applied:

The lowest nett score for the last 9 holes (10 – 18) and if still a tie
The lowest nett score for the last 6 holes (13 – 18) and if still a tie
The lowest nett score for the last 3 holes (16 – 18) and if still a tie
The lowest nett score for the last 1 hole (hole 18) and if still a tie
Sudden death match play on the best nett score on the card, hole by hole from the 1st hole.

TEES
Play will be from the Belhaven tee markers.

RULES
The competition shall be played under the Rules of Golf as laid down by R&A Rules Limited and supplemented by the local rules of The Fairmont, St Andrews, and the SGU hard card as issued by the SGU Events Committee. The SGU reserve the right to override any club local rule.

The use of electronic measuring devices is permitted. However, smart phones which include distance measuring applications are non-conforming under Rule 14-3 and may not be used.

TROLLEYS & STROKESAVERS
The Professionals Shop has a supply of trolleys for hire on a first come first serve basis. Yardage books will be available for purchase from the Professionals Shop.

PRACTICE
The Fairmont, St Andrews are delighted to offer competitors a discounted practice round over the Torrance Course only at a rate of £20.00 per person, Monday – Friday and £30.00 on weekends. All practice times are subject to availability, please contact the professional shop on 01334 837023, quoting Belhaven Best Club Handicap Championship.

Courtesy practice balls will be available on the day of competition only.

All competitors are reminded that they should allow enough time to get from the driving range to their starting tee. Under the conditions of competition competitors arriving late to the tee may be disqualified.

SCORECARDS
Scorecards must be returned to the SGU Championship Office immediately after play. This will be situated at the side of the clubhouse by the 1st tee.

PRIZE GIVING
The Championship trophy and prizes will be presented at the close of play, all prize winners are required to be present.

ACCOMMODATION
Competitors are advised that accommodation in and around the St Andrews area will be at a premium during the week of the competition due to the staging of the Dunhill Links Championship. Competitors who require accommodation may wish to view the following website:

• Take A90 over the Forth Road Bridge on to the M90.
• At junction 8 take the A91 towards St Andrews.
• Follow A91 to St Andrews.
• At St Andrews at the 1st roundabout take 2nd exit for town centre.
• At next roundabout take 1st exit onto North Street.
• Continue along North Street to Cathedral and follow the road round to the right.
• At mini roundabout take 1st exit A917 for Crail.

• From Glasgow take M8 towards Edinburgh.
• At Junction 2 turn onto M9 and follow signs for the Forth Road Bridge.
• Take A90 over the Forth Road Bridge on to the M90.
• At junction 8 take the A91 towards St Andrews.
• Follow A91 to St Andrews.
• At St Andrews at the 1st roundabout take 2nd exit for town centre.
• At next roundabout take 1st exit onto North Street.
